A squirrel helicopter transfers cargo to the Basler DC3 aircraft parked on the sea ice landing area, next to Davis station.

In the past days, we have had good flying weather and have been able to send several flights to Mt Brown. Total cargo delivered to the site is approximately 14 tonnes, including drills, generators, machinery, survival and communications equipment, drilling liquid, fuel, personnel and food. This cargo has been transferred mostly using the Kenn Borek Twin Otter but the last two days we have also made use of the Kenn Borek Basler DC3. Tomorrow the final three team members (Nerilie, Ali and Paul) should be transferred to the drill site and we will begin to set up the drill tent. Thanks to all of the team at Davis for making this happen: Operations, Meteorologists, Airfield crew, Aircraft operators, and many others working behind the scenes. Conditions at Mt Brown: Mostly clear, winds 20-25kts E, Min -27C/Max -21C.
